What prices are you likely to encounter during your holiday in Meloneras?
Drinks at bars and restaurants
Some places are known to have happy hours in the beginning of the evening with 2 for 1 offers or reduced prices. But overall the price was €3 for 0.5 litres of beer and $2 for 0.33 litres of beer. Cocktails were €5.
A bottle of house wine at a restaurant were priced at around €10.
Food at restaurants
There are of course a bit of variation in prices from place to place. But take this as a general guide.
T-bone steak: €18-20
Sirloin steak: €14-16
1/2 Chicken: €9
Rabbit: €7
Hamburger: €8-10
Pizza Margarita: €6-7
Pizza with “luxury” ingredients like Parma ham: €12
Lunch menu
Club Sandwich: €5
Caesar Salad: €5
Restaurants make most profit by offering you their dinner menu. If you’re having lunch somewhere be sure to ask for a lunch menu, because all you are likely to get is the “evening menu” which secures the most profit.
At supermarkets
At supermarkets you’ll find beer priced as low as €0.50 for 0.5 litres. €1 for the premium brands. 1.5 litres of bottled water were €0.70.
Newspapers
The English newspapers The Sun & Daily Mirror are available for €2 in various newsgents. Daily Telegraph and Guardian are €3. Scandinavian newspapers costs $3. They are all freshly printed in Spain.
