Playa Meloneras

Playa Meloneras is the local beach in the resort town of Meloneras. When visiting Meloneras it is likely that you will take a trip here to get a meal at lunch or dinner time.
There is a small beach promenade at Playa Meloneras. Here you will find 5-6 restaurants. Most of them serve the same type of meat and fish dishes. All the restaurants are located at the ground plan of a 4 storey shopping centre, named Playa Meloneras Shopping Center.
Here’s some info on some of the restaurants located at Playa Meloneras.
Ciao Ciao
There’s an Italian restaurant named Ciao Ciao which offers a slightly more specialized fare. The food at Ciao Ciao is pretty good. The pizzas are crispy thin and the prices range from €6 for the Margarita to €12 for the one with Parma ham. There is also pasta and meat dishes. But I did not taste them.
Hemingway 2
This is a restaurant with a varied menu, however, their speciality is grilled meat and fish. They grill their food on wooden grills. The steaks are decent and the service is friendly and efficent. Aside from the normal dishes they also offer dishes like Argentinian Chorizo and Rabbit. I tried the Chorizo and it was a very meaty and spicy sausage. Try it as a starter or as a main dish. It was inexpensively priced at €7 for a main dish and €4.50 as a starter.
The prices for steaks at Hemingway 2 are €10-15. Wine bottles from €12. Big beers (0.4) were €3.
The reason for being named Hemingway 2 is that they also run a restaurant in a shopping centre near Faro Maspalomas.
Sea Golf Restaurant
Sea Golf have a set of golf clubs outside their restaurant, and along with the location only 200 metres from the Meloneras golf course, it obviously tries to be the place of choice for golfers, but the clientéle is very varied.
They have a varied menu with sea food and meat dishes. They have a very good lunch menu with tasty and inexpensive sandwiches. However, you have to ask specifically for the lunch menu. By default you will only receive their “dinner menu” where the more expensive and larger dishes like meat steaks are offered. Obviously the restaurant earns more money on these dishes, but at 2 PM in the afternoon one would expect them to give you the lunch menu without having to ask for it. The Club Sandwich (€4.50) I ate there was top notch with excellent bacon and chicken.
Sea Golf Restaurant shows football matches on big screens during the week. They show all the English matches that are televised on Sky and Setanta. Everything from Conference League matches to big derbies in the Premier League.
